Filters and telescopes for solar observation

White-Light Filters

Herschel-wedges are used for solar observing in white-light. Contrast and sharpness are much better by using a Herschel-wedge than using a front mounted solar filter. Herschel-wedges can be used for solar observing at refractor telescopes up to 150mm aperture.
